American Friends of the Louvre

American Friends of the Louvre (AFL) is dedicated to supporting the Musée du Louvre and advancing French culture in the United States through a dynamic membership program and philanthropic support. AFL’s members include Francophiles, French expatriates, and overall lovers of art and travel. Membership benefits vary by level and may include participation in remarkable trips around the world, access to exclusive programming and exhibition openings at the Louvre, free admission to the Louvre, and discounts in Museum cafés and shops.

Beyond membership, AFL enables Americans to contribute to major restoration projects and capital campaigns at the museum. Recent initiatives include refurbishing Anne of Austria’s Summer Apartments, renovating the Spanish Galleries, and conserving La Maestà by Cimabue.

AFL was founded in 2002 to strengthen ties between the Louvre and the American public and to formalize the longstanding generosity of American patrons. To date, more than $60 million has been raised in support of the museum, which helps raise awareness of the Louvre’s collections and museum expertise and helps make the Museum’s exhibitions and permanent collections more accessible in the U.S. and around the world.
