Introduction
The Musée du Louvre has created an original experience around more than a hundred different works in the museum’s collections, allowing visitors to delve into and decode the meaning of beauty and its associated practices, representations and roles throughout cultures and time periods
This exhibition, titled "de toutes beautés !" invites visitors to explore, through these works of art, the actions, rituals, objects, and practices which women and men have associated with beauty over more than 10,000 years of history. Discover idealised perceptions of beauty, beauty standards and imagery which sheds light on how we choose to represent ourselves. The exhibition "de toutes beautés !" questions our identities and highlights how our conception of appearances has shifted across ages and civilisations. Immerse yourself in this experience which holds up a mirror to humanity’s universal pursuit of beauty. This unique visit is made possible thanks to the support of L'Oréal Group.
